WebMonetization is a new way of monetizing content on the web. It allows sites to recieve money automatically, without accounts. It allows users to pay money to any Web Monetized website with a single subscription:
Users can pay anonymously and without friction or accountsSites can receive money from new users immediately - no accounts, no subscription, no friction, just moneySoon there will be multiple services users can use to pay, but sites can receive from all of themLow effort to install - several lines of code.

Does WM allow for lootboxes etcYes, though the users will have to have a subscription service which contains a tipping or paying features. Currently Coil allows for constant paying but not tipping.Lootboxes aren't obviously necessary though, since content is already being paid for
What are the advantages of Web Monetization?Many community services don't have enough regular users for subscriptions to make sense. Web Monetization means that 10x as many users using it 1/10th of the time still produce the same amount of money.
